Qualifications:

Must be a registered voter in Hancock
County

Each precinct must have 2 Democratic and 2
Republican poll workers. A person not affiliated with a political party
may serve in either a Democratic or a Republican poll worker position.

Be able to work from 5:30 am to
approximately 8:00 pm
Pay:

$80.00 for Presiding Judges and Judges
-
Presiding Judges receive an additional $5.00 if working in Findlay;
$9.00 if working in the County; and $10.00 if working in Fostoria or
Orange Township

$5.00 for Mileage (County to City or City
to County)

Our staff will be in the office to answer
any questions that might arise. The above duties will be divided among the
poll workers. The presiding judge will pick up supplies on the Monday
before the election (8:30 am – 4:30 pm) and return them to our office on
election night.
Details:
Hancock County has 63 precincts in 29 locations that are staffed each
election day with voting hours from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Each precinct
has three judges and one presiding judge (two Republicans and two
Democrats) with some larger precincts with an elections assistant for a
total of five workers.
Training:
Training classes for new workers are scheduled before most elections. You
will be paid $8.50 for the class.
When:
Elections are held the Tuesday after the first Monday in May and November
with a possibility of special elections in February and August. During
presidential election years, the May primary is moved to March.
